EQUESTRIAN

A horse and rider turning at the end of a series of poles

SCA Equestrian attempts to recreate the excitement, glamor, and challenge of horsemanship in the middle ages. Because we span such a large time-frame as well as so many countries, we are a very diverse group. We play equestrian games and study the horsemanship, training, riding, and equipment used in different regions and times ranging from the Fall of Rome to the Renaissance.

Most horse people will find our games exciting and challenging. We have a strong focus on safety and responsibility as well as having lots of fun.

Those who have little or no experience with horses can learn a lot as well. We offer classes on safety, horse management, health, equipment, history, and more. About the only thing we don't offer are riding lessons, though we can recommend farms in the area that do offer them. We are always in need of field hands and responsible eyes around the animals.
